Perranporth | Angeliki Ampelogianni
On a cliff in Perranporth // Splashes of salty air on frozen faces // A story of near drowning // and turning blue fingertips // The memory of a grandfather // lost at sea // Like a film stuck on repeat // Could I fall? / How would it feel? // The impact with the rocks // The ice cold water // The creatures of the night // Surrounding me // As my lungs fill up with water // A white long dress over burning flesh // and golden rings // How does it all come to this? // Then, slowly, in the dark // of the morning sun // I take his hand // We walk up the steps // Back towards a parking lot // swept by the winds // The vision gone // Perhaps, one day // It will all become art // Like the thunder inside of me // Like these words // Like all the lives lost at sea
